Attorney Jeff R. Thompson is a 1995 cum laude graduate of Tulane University Law School, where he was the recipient of the Yiannopoulos Award and a member of the Tulane University Moot Court National Trial Team. Before obtaining his law degree, Jeff served as Associate Director of the Development for Northeast Louisiana University, working in the areas of fundraising, and public and governmental affairs. He obtained his Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Real Estate and Insurance from Northeast Louisiana University in 1988 after serving as President of the Student Government Association.

Jeff served as a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association House of Delegates, and is a past president of the Bossier Parish Bar Association. He also served as the 2004 President of the Bossier Chamber of Commerce, currently serves as a board member of the Greater Bossier Economic Development Foundation, is on the Bossier Parish Community College Foundation, is a vice president of the Holiday In Dixie Board, and has served as Chairman of the Bossier District of the Norwella Council of the Boy Scouts of America. Jeff and his wife, Toni, have two children, a daughter, Lillie, and a son, Rowe William.
